COURSE OBJECTIVES

Entrepreneurship is a way of thinking and acting. There are two primary course objectives:

1. To investigate the concepts, tools, and practices of entrepreneurship. We will focus on:

  • Identifying new venture opportunities (versus ideas),

  • Evaluating the viability of a new venture,

  • Analyzing a business plan,

  • Understanding which skills are necessary for success and building a team that possesses those attributes.

    2. To engage in entrepreneurial thinking and decision making through classroom debate and assignments.

COURSE MATERIALS

Book: Essentials of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, (5th Edition), by Thomas W. Zimmerer & A. Norman M. Scarborough
